Secretary General (Sekjen) of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani asked the Government to thoroughly investigate the case of leakage of voter data on the website of the General Election Commission (KPU), Wednesday (29/11).

"Yes, it must be resolved because the data leak is our personal data," said Muzani as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, November 30.

According to Muzani, the leakage of voter data is very dangerous for the public and KPU institutions. With the leaking of this data, those who break into can take advantage of hundreds of thousands of Indonesian citizen data to other parties for certain purposes.

This condition, he said, makes people feel insecure so that it has the potential to reduce the credibility of the KPU in the eyes of the public.

Muzani asked related parties to find out the cause of the breach of the KPU website.

"So, it must be overcome, find out the cause of who is responsible. Such important data can be leaked," he said.

Previously, public attention was directed at an anonymous hacker named "Jimbo" who claimed to have hacked the KPU website and accessed voter data from the site.

The account shares 500,000 example data in one upload on the BreachForums site. The site is usually to sell hacked data.

Orang juga mengverifikasi kebenaran data dengan beberapa perangkapan layar dari situs cendptonline.kpu.go.id.

In his upload, feasibility reveals that of the 252 million data he obtained, there are some duplicated data.

After screening, 204,807,203 data was found. This figure is almost the same as the number of voters in the KPU's final voter list (DPT) which reached 204,807,222 voters from 514 districts/cities in Indonesia and 128 representative countries.

The data that was successfully accessed by "Jimbo" includes personal information, such as population identification number (NIK), family card number (KK), ID card number, voter passport number abroad, full name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, marriage status, full address, and polling code (TPS).

Meanwhile, the KPU continues to coordinate with the Election Cyber Task Force (Satgas) to ensure the security of voter data in the 2024 General Election.

"Currently we are asking for help from the Cyber Task Force, now the BSSN (Syber Agency and State Password) is working," said RI KPU member Betty Epsilon Idroos at the KPU Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (28/11).

Betty said that the KPU had received information related to the alleged burglary of voter data by a hacker who used the name "Jimbo".

The KPU immediately conducted a search and cooperated with the relevant ministries and non-ministerial government agencies (K/L), including coordinating with BSSN to verify the data sources suspected of having been compromised.
