PWI Talks About The Economic Crisis And Ethics Experienced By The Media To Ganjar

JAKARTA - The Central Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) has confided in the presidential candidate (candidate) number three, Ganjar Pranowo about the current media conditions. There are two things mentioned, namely the economic and ethical crisis. This was conveyed by Central PWI Chairman Hendry CH Bangun when receiving a visit from Ganjar at his office, Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta. "Right now, we are also facing a good ethical crisis, especially from economically," Hendry told Ganjar, Thursday, November 30. Hendry then explained that nearly 90 percent of the mass media's income has now switched to social media. So he asked Ganjar to maintain independence and press freedom. "Almost 90 percent of the income previously earned by the press now falls on social media or platforms that manage information," he said. Hearing this, Ganjar assessed that the transition from conventional to digital media was actually not infrastructure ready. As a result, many media businesses have to go out of business or go bankrupt and online media are not credible. "Business is not good. It's not okay yet. And many went bankrupt and then there appeared new," said Ganjar. "This condition must make PWI do extra control," said Ganjar. Because of the facts on the ground, especially in media areas like this is a partisan. "But I found that this journalist had village officials. In the village. I found him working yesterday in a community organization. Suddenly he became a journalist, just write down and have various motives,” explained the former Governor of Central Java. Ganjar agrees that the public does need a lot of information from the news. However, everything that is conveyed should be balanced.
