JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi, guarantees that there are no allegations of political motives in the 204 million leak case of the 2024 General Election Fixed Voter List (DPT) at the Indonesian KPU circulating on social media. Budi claims that the Ministry of Communication and Information has investigated the temporary motive for breaking into hundreds of millions of voter data. The motive, he said, was only an indication of economic motives. "If our motive is to guarantee that it is a commercial interest. We want to trade the data. From our provisional conclusion," Budi Arie told reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 29. "(Indications, ed) Yes, selling, expensive data, (selling) to parties who need it," he continued. The Head of Projo asked the public not to worry about the 204 million DPT data breach in the 2024 General Election. Because once again, he emphasized that the motive for the burglary was not politics. "But just to make sure there is no political motive, this is a business motive. Therefore, so that the public does not worry first," said Budi. Budi ensured that the Ministry of Communication and Information would coordinate with BSSN and the National Police to overcome the problem. However, his party gave up the police to arrest the perpetrators. "This is also a warning for election organizers to maintain the system well, the data security is good," he said. Even so, Budi appealed to all parties not to blame the KPU. He asked not to discredit the election organizers for this case of leakage of voter data.

"Well, don't blame us. We don't want to blame the Ministry of other institutions, especially since the KPU is the organizer of the election for all of us, you know. Don't let the KPU be discredited," he concluded.
