Vice President Ma'ruf: Indonesia Continues To Push To Stop Fighting In Gaza

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma’ruf Amin said the Indonesian government continues to voice the halt to fighting in Gaza between Israel and Palestine. “Indonesia continues to try to stop fighting because there are so many victims, women, children, and innocent children. The world says it has entered the massacre, "” said Ma’ruf in the Interfaith Dialogue in Bratislava, Slovakia, as reported by Antara, Monday, November 27. In various diplomatic means, Ma'ruf emphasized that Indonesia continues to encourage a permanent solution to the Israeli and Palestinian conflicts. Indonesia supports the United Nations (UN) decision on the importance of a two-state solution ('two satet solution') to stop the Israeli and Palestinian conflicts. "“Indonesia wants a permanent, sustainable settlement, namely through two state solutions," said Ma’ruf. Indonesia, said Ma’ruf, continues to encourage the resolution of global conflicts, not only in Gaza, but also in fighting between Russia and Ukraine. "Our “ President (President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo) at the beginning came (to Ukraine) for peace during war and also came to Russia. Our president met with the President of Ukraine and President Putin,” said Ma’ruf. Vice President Ma’ruf called on religious leaders in the world to contribute to finding peaceful solutions to various conflicts in the world. Also attending the Interfaith Dialogue were religious leaders in Slovakia, namely Slovak Bishops Conference (President of Slovakia Bishop Conference) Mons Bernard Bober and Nuncio Apostolic Nicola Girasoli.
