Claims Never Delay Investigation At Polda Metro, Firli: This Is Because Of The Interests Of The Service And Duties

Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri stated that he could not fulfill the summons of Polda Metro Jaya investigators regarding the alleged extortion of former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo because of his duties. Firli emphasized that he was not delaying time. "There is no delay, I make sure there is no delay. This is because of the interests of the service and duties," Firli told reporters at a press conference at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, November 14. Firli explained that he had communicated with the Polda Metro Jaya regarding his examination. He said he would attend but did not say when. "But not today. What I actually schedule today is to attend the invitation of the KPK Council but the letter earlier, that today, all adults do not exist," he said. "... As for fulfilling my presence at Polda Metro, we have also communicated it. Later you will follow in the near future we will be present to fulfill the summons from Polda Metro Jaya," continued Firli. Previously reported, Firli was again summoned by the Polda Metro Jaya because he was absent on November 7 yesterday. He chose to go to Aceh to carry out the activities of the anti-corruption commission and a series of World Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia). "(The examination, ed) is scheduled for an additional examination or request for information on Tuesday, November 14, 2023," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak to reporters, Monday, October 13. Even so, Firli's attorney, Ian Iskandar, said that his client could not attend because he had to come to the KPK Supervisory Board (Dewas). He claims that a letter requesting a postponement of the examination has been submitted to investigators from Polda Metro Jaya. Meanwhile, the KPK Supervisory Board confirmed that it would not examine Firli. The reason is, he should have been summoned on Monday, November 13 yesterday.

In fact, the KPK Council summoned him back next week. “ Already sent (the latest invitation, ed) on Monday, November 20 at 10.00 a.m.,” said KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, November 14.
