JAKARTA - PT Transport Sungai, Lake and Crossing (ASDP) Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Ketapang Branch, Banyuwangi, East Java, predicts that the peak flow of transportation for the 2024 Christmas holiday will occur on December 23-24, 2024.

Shelvy Arifin also projects an increase in currents of up to 20 percent for passengers or around 1.2 million people and an increase in trips of up to 13 percent to 8,816 trips, as well as a 20 percent increase in the number of vehicles or up to 320,787 units across Ketapang-Gilimanuk.

To anticipate the surge in passengers during this year's Christmas holiday, he continued, ASDP has also increased the Ponton Pier to MB Pier (gera manga) at Gilimanuk Port which is capable of serving ships with a capacity of 5,000 GRT.

"In addition, the arrangement of the Bulusan land in Banyuwangi has also been carried out to separate trucks and passengers using the Ketapang LCM service," said Shelvy.
