The Reporter Of Alleged Nepotism Of Jokowi's Family Will Give Additional Evidence To The KPK Today

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Defenders Team (TPDI) will visit the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) this afternoon, Tuesday, November 14.

They will provide additional evidence of reports of alleged nepotism by former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) along with their two children, Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Kaesang Pangarep.

This step was taken according to the request of the Deputy for Information and KPK Data.

"TPDI as the reporter for the alleged criminal act of nepotism that occurred in the process of the Material Test case article 169 letter q of the Election Law as referred to in the Constitutional Court Decision No. 90 / PUU-XXI / 2023 dated October 16, 2023," said TPDI Coordinator, Petrus Selentinus in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, November 14.

Petrus said his party would attend at 13.00 WIB. He will come with a complete copy of the MKMK Decision Number 2/MKMK/L/ARLTP/X/2023 which was read out on November 7.

This decision states that Anwar violated ethics until he was finally removed. "It is hoped that as soon as the evidence document for the Constitutional Court's decision is submitted, the KPK shows its guts," he said.

In addition, TPDI also asked the anti-corruption commission to summon the parties suspected of being involved. They are President Jokowi, Anwar Usman, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Kaesang Pangarep, Prabowo Subianto, Pratikno, here are 9 Constitutional Justices, case applicants and their attorneys.

Then, Petrus also wanted the KPK to hear statements from the Constitutional Court Honorary Council (MKMK) such as Jimly Asshiddiqie, Bintan R. Saragih, and Mahamuddin Adams, as well as experts.

TPDI considers that investigations need to be carried out immediately. Moreover, there is news that the Constitutional Justice received Rp10 billion as a sign of gratitude after the decision on the term limit for the presidential and vice presidential candidates was knocked out.

"So that a high priority investigation is carried out because it involves restoring public trust in the President, the Constitutional Court, and the KPU," said Petrus.

Previously, the KPK confirmed reports of alleged nepotism against President Jokowi's family. Those reported were former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Anwar Usman who was President Jokowi's brother-in-law, President Jokowi with his two children, namely Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri ensured that this report would be followed up according to applicable regulations. "Analysis and verification (will be carried out, ed) to ascertain whether they meet the requirements and are under the authority of the KPK," he said when confirmed by reporters, Monday, October 23.
