East Kalimantan Provincial Government Agrees On Crocodile Habitat Riska To Become A Tourist Destination

SAMARINDA - The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan agreed with the Municipal Government of Bontang so that the habitat of crocodiles named Riska in Bontang can become new tourist destinations for local governments.

"We hope that the Riska crocodile will become a new tourist destination in East Kalimantan, precisely in Bontang City. So, Bontang will have a new tourist destination, namely the Riska Crocodile Tourism Destination visit," said Akmal Malik after meeting the Mayor of Bontang Basri.

For this reason, Akmal advised the Mayor of Bontang to handle the relocation of the Riska crocodile properly.

Therefore, socialization and coordination are needed with all parties who do not understand the handling and development of the Riska crocodile in the future.

That way, in the future the handling of the Riska crocodile will become a strength for the development of tourism objects in East Kalimantan Province, especially Bontang City.

"I have spoken with the Mayor of Bontang, I ask the Municipal Government of Bontang to communicate with all parties. With the aim of unifying the perspective on tourism development in Bontang, including the Riska crocodile," he said.

The Mayor of Bontang Basri Rase explained that the purpose of his visit to the Governor's Office was to communicate regarding the handling of the Riska crocodile.

According to the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs, so that the Riska crocodile is managed properly and returned to its natural habitat.

"We ask that the transfer of the Riska crocodile from the Balikpapan Triip to Bontang be handled professionally according to the condition of the Riska crocodile's habitat," he explained.

He said that after the Hero's Day ceremony, all parties in Bontang and BKSDA and regional apparatus organizations (OPD) related to the East Kalimantan Provincial Government would coordinate to handle the transfer of the Riska crocodile.
