JAKARTA - The White House said it had received information that said Russia was executing its soldiers who did not follow orders regarding the war in Ukraine.

"We have information that Russian military authorities are executing soldiers who refuse to follow orders," White House spokesman John Kirby told reporters, as reported by Reuters, October 27.

"We also received information that the Russian commander threatened to execute the entire unit if they tried to retreat from Ukrainian artillery fire," continued Kirby.

Representatives from the Kremlin, the Russian Defense Ministry and the Russian Embassy to the United States did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov wrote his comments on the Telegram messaging application, but did not refer to the White House accusations.

Referring to the latest military aid package to Ukraine of 150 million US dollars, Antonov branded the US decision as "a provocative and inflammatory act in the international arena that looks more like pouring oil on the fire than trying to defuse the conflict".

"It's long past time to stop the senseless flow of billions of dollars to the bankrupt Kyiv regime," Antonov wrote on Telegram.

"It's time to stop showing total contempt for the opinions of your own citizens and indifference to the increasing death toll from American weaponry."

Kirby himself said the mobilized Russian troops were untrained, ill-equipped and unprepared to fight.

He said the Russian military used "human wave tactics" by throwing groups of poorly trained soldiers into battle.

Kirby said the threat to execute the soldiers was a barbaric act.

"I think this is a symptom of how poorly the Russian military leaders know what they are doing and how poorly they have handled this problem from a military point of view," he said.
