Airlangga said BLT would be given IDR 200 thousand per month. There are also provisions for recipients of BLT El Nino, namely recipients of the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance.

"There is direct cash assistance for El Nino. We are finalizing it again at the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani). The recipients will also be community groups who receive PKH," said Airlangga.

"(The time for giving BLT) is two months, Rp. 200 thousand per month per beneficiary family (KPM). This is the KPM yesterday, later the Minister of Finance (Sri Mulyani) will explain," he added.

Airlangga explained more technically about this BLT, as well as the number of recipients and budgets, the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani would submit.

The government has previously provided social assistance (bansos) for 10 kilograms of food to 21, 35 million KPM to help them face drought this year. This social assistance has been disbursed since September 2023.

Not only September, rice was also distributed in October and November 2023. Moreover, Airlangga said the rice social assistance would be extended until December 2023.

"The rice aid will be continued in December (2023), 10 kilograms per beneficiary family. Yes (direct rice), we have been in effect, October, November, so it's just a matter of December," explained Airlangga.

"According to BMKG predictions, the peak impact of El Nino occurred in September. El Nino's level will moderately survive and end in February-March 2024," said BMKG Head Dwikorita Karnawati.
