BPBD Records 10 Districts In Bantul Drought, 2 Points Ask For Clean Water Droping

DIY - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that as many as 10 sub-districts in Bantul Regency were affected by drought due to drought.

Of the number of affected sub-districts, two of them are the latest areas asking for a request for a drop in clean water.

"As of October 18, 2023, there are 10 sub-districts affected by drought, the two most recent sub-districts are in the Sedayu and Banguntapan sub-districts," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of Bantul BPBD Antoni Hutagaol in Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), Thursday, October 19, confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the 10 sub-districts in addition to the two sub-districts that have just entered their agencies are Piyungan, Kasihan, Pajangan, Pundong, Pleret, Pandak, Imogiri and Dlingo sub-districts.

He said that the Sedayu area that submitted the application for clean water dropping was because the community had difficulty with clean water, namely in Argomulyo Village, while Banguntapan was in the Banguntapan Village area.

"Yang baru dua kecamatan ini, maka langsung menambah kecamatannya, mereka sebelumnya aman, tapi di saat kerumunan yang seperti ini mereka muncul, karena tahun ini luar biasa ekstrem, sedangkan tahun sebelumnya kerumuran basah," katanya.

He further said, based on the infographic of dropping clean water in Bantul Regency from the beginning of the dry season until October 18, 4.5 million liters of clean water have been distributed to 10 sub-districts throughout Bantul, covering 18 sub-districts and 39 hamlets or hamlets.

Meanwhile, the data on families affected by drought in the 10 sub-districts is 8,834 families, consisting of 34,635 people.

Meanwhile, the details of the distribution of water tanks, namely as many as 247 tanks, 86 tanks sourced from the APBD and 161 tanks from donors through BPBD, then 406 water tanks from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Bantul, 184 water tanks from the Social Service Tagana Bantul, and 94 tanks from donations.

"The water stock in Bantul BPBD is all 382 tanks, but only 86 tanks have been used, because so many of these donors really care and they ask to be distributed immediately. So the remaining around 290 water tanks," he said.

He further said that although many people need to drop clean water, the stock of clean water at BPBD Bantul is still safe, because in dealing with drought, other agencies and donors from the private sector are also assisted.

"Until now, conditions are still safe, we are no longer submitting in unexpected budgets, we will still allocate them as planned. If the prediction of rain from the BMKG in November has started to rain," he said.
