Democrats Call 4 Names Strengthening To Candidates For Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - The Democrat Party said there were four names that strengthened as candidates for vice president candidate (cawapres) as assistants to the presidential candidate (readpres) for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Prabowo Subianto. "We heard that Mr. Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate strengthened on four names," said Head of the Strategic Communications Agency, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, to reporters, Monday, October 9. The four names are the General Chair of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto, the Minister of SOEs as well as the Chairman of PSSI Erick Thohir, the Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa. Herzaky said Prabowo would ask for opinions regarding the names of the 4 figures to the general chairmen of the coalition political parties before deciding the vice president. However, he did not divulge when the plan for the meeting of the KIM chairmanes would be held. "We also heard that Mr. Prabowo Subianto would ask and at the same time listen to the views of the leaders of each political party member of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition before he decided who the vice presidential candidate would be elected," he said. Herzaky ensured that the Democratic Party would give considerations and input when asked by Prabowo as a presidential candidate.

"But of course, for the Democratic Party, it is Mr. Prabowo who will decide who the vice presidential candidate will be," he said. "We hope that the vice presidential candidate chosen by Mr. Prabowo Subianto is the right person, and brings victory for the Forward Indonesia Coalition," he concluded.
