Security Of SMAN 6 Kebayoran Baru Allegedly Died Due To Expired APAR, Police Reveal The Chronology

JAKARTA Cecep, security for SMAN 6 Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta is thought to have died from inhaling a simple fire extinguisher (APAR) that has expired. This allegation was conveyed by the Kebayoran Baru Police Chief, Kompol Tribuana Roseno in his statement, Friday, September 29.

"The victim died allegedly due to inhaling carbon gas that was emitted or sprayed from a large orange fire extinguisher that expired in 2016," Tribuana told reporters, Friday afternoon, September 29.

Tribuana also explained that the incident began when a witness named Rahmat was putting up ceramics near an electrical panel to hear the sound of explosions and emitting smoke and flames. Rahmat called the victim, Cecep, to immediately extinguish the fire.

"The victim immediately took a large APAR tube with two other people, then the victim immediately entered the electrical panel room and immediately sprayed a large fire extinguisher," he said.

"So that the fire can be controlled by the victim using 1 large apparatus that has expired (2016)," he continued.

Furthermore, after the fire extinguisher was sprayed, the room was filled with smoke and dust. The victim who was in the room breathed the thick fog.

After that, Cecep came out of a smoke-filled place. Then, he leaned on the iron pole of the motorcycle parking lot.

The victim fell unconscious and was immediately rushed to the hospital at the RSPP. (However) The victim died on the way to the hospital. The victim is suspected to have been caused by inhaling carbon gas released by APAR," he said

Previously, a security guard at SMAN 6, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta was reported to have died in an electrical panel fire in the school. The victim, Cecep, died of deep smoke while extinguishing the fire.
