JAKARTA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoyan called on Sunday for Russia not to be "arranged", in talks aimed at reviving the deal to export grains through the Black Sea.
President Erdogan said the issue of unblocking the Black Sea Grain Initiative had been discussed in great detail at the G-20 summit this weekend. However, any initiative that isolates Russia is unlikely to be maintained.
"There is no process that marginalizes Russia in the Black Sea Grain Initiative that will survive," President Erdogan told a news conference after the end of a meeting in New Delhi.
Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey will continue to discuss this seed deal, President Erdogan said, as quoted by Reuters.
President Erdogan said he was not "excited" about reviving the seed deal.
As previously reported, President Erdogan brought good news after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi earlier this month that the seed agreement could be restored.
"As Turkey, we believe that we will achieve a solution that meets expectations in a short time," President Erdogan said in Sochi.
Meanwhile, President Putin said Russia could return to the wheat deal if the West fulfills a separate memorandum agreed with the United Nations, at the same time to facilitate Russian food and fertilizer exports.
President Putin said Russia could return to the agreement, only if the West stopped limiting Russia's agricultural exports to reach the global market.

"We will be ready to consider the possibility of reviving the wheat deal and I have conveyed this to the President again today. We will do this as soon as all agreements regarding the lifting of export restrictions on Russian agricultural products are fully enforced," President Putin said.
After speaking with President Putin, President Erdogan plans to hold talks on the restoration of the Black Sea seed agreement with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the upcoming September 18-26 UN General Assembly.
It is known that Russia left the agreement in July, a year after the agreement was brokered by the United Nations and Turkey, because it assessed that the terms of the agreement related to Russia had not been realized.
