Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that the emission test ticket that will be held starting today in several locations in Jakarta will continue every week.
This was conveyed by Asep when reviewing the implementation of emission tests and ticketing for vehicles that did not pass at the Sub-Directorate of Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Pancoran, South Jakarta.
"In the future, it will only be in the early stages once a week. We apply it once a week for the next three months," said Asep, Friday, September 1.
On this first day, the emission test ticket was held at five points, namely on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, East Jakarta; Jalan RE Martadinata, North Jakarta; Taman Anggrek, West Jakarta; Blok M Terminal, South Jakarta; and Jalan Asia Afrika, Central Jakarta.
However, Asep emphasized that the location of the ticket at the next time is different in order to prevent vehicles from passing the emission test from avoiding the point of implementation of the raid.
"Change the location. If we leak it, we will definitely avoid everything. So, this week, then we will do it next week. But I can't tell you where and what time," said Asep.
For this reason, Asep asked people who use their vehicles in Jakarta to immediately carry out emission tests. Vehicle emission tests can be carried out in workshops that are already registered in the DKI Provincial Government records.
Moreover, according to him, emission testing is not a hassle for the community because it is only done once a year.
"The information I received from the workshop for motorcycles was Rp. 50,000 and Rp. 100,000 for cars. Because the market price is like that, God willing, it will not burden the community and the validity period of the year emission test," he explained.
Vehicles that do not pass the emission test will be subject to fines in the form of fines ranging from Rp. 250 thousand to Rp. 500 thousand. For 2-wheeled vehicles, a fine of Rp. 250 thousand is imposed. Meanwhile, 4-wheeled vehicles amounted to Rp. 500 thousand.
The amount of the fine is regulated in accordance with Article 285 Paragraph 1 and Article 276 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ).
