The Head Of PAN Soppeng Suspect Of Accident In Kerung-kerung Makassar Has Been Detained By The Police

The police are still processing the chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) of Soppeng Regency, South Sulawesi, Muhammad Tawing after being named a suspect after allegedly hitting a motorcyclist to death on the streets of Makassar.

"The suspect has been named and detained. The person concerned is subject to Article 310 paragraph 4 and Article 312 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation," said Head of the Public Relations Section of the Makassar Polrestabes Kompol Lando K Sambolangi quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 30.

Meanwhile, Kasat Lalu Polrestabes Makassar AKBP Amin Toha stated that the determination of the person concerned as a suspect was after officers conducted an investigation after the victim had an accident.

From initial information, the victim, Irwan Adiatmaja, was suspected of having had a single accident on Jalan Kerung-kerung, Makassar District at 18.00 WITA, Friday (21/8). But recently, from the development and evidence of CCTV video footage, the victim was actually hit by a car.

"Initially, the family report was suspected of having an accident on its own (single), but after being developed and examining witnesses and CCTV footage we took it turned out to be hit," he said.

In the investigation process, the car the perpetrator was driving at that time turned out to be passing at the scene of the case. Based on the CCTV footage, he was then summoned for questioning. Cooperatively, the person came and admitted, then named a suspect.

Separately confirmed the Secretary of the South Sulawesi PAN DPW Andi Jamaluddin Jafar confirmed the disaster. However, his party has not sanctioned the person concerned and is also known to be the Chairman of the Makassar City Industry

"Not yet (dismissed). If cases such as corruption and drugs, we will definitely be firm, we will fire them. But this is a disaster," said Jamaluddin Jafar.
