Sentenced To 3 Years Of Demotion, Inspector General Napoleon Doesn't Appeal

JAKARTA - Former Head of the National Police's Hubinter Division Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte (NB) was sentenced to a lower demotion or transfer of office for 3 years by the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP). Regarding the decision, Napoleon did not file an appeal.

"Brother NB accepts the decision given and declares no appeal," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, August 29.

The KKEP trial was held last Monday in the Divpropam Police courtroom at the TNCC Building, Police Headquarters.

Ramadhan said the trial was chaired by Irwasum Polri Komjen Ahmad Dofiri and Wadankorbrimob Polri Inspector General Imam Widodo.

The other trial commissions as members were the Head of the National Police Division, Inspector General Syahardiantono, Expert Staff of the National Police Chief Inspector General Hendro Pandowo, and Kakorbinmas Baharkam Polri Inspector General Hary Sudwijanto.

"The witnesses who attended the trial were five people, namely Kompol SMN, Kompol AAA, Ipda AAGPA, Brigpol JF, Pembina MST," he said.

Not only that, there were three witnesses who gave virtual statements, namely Brigadier General TAD, Kombes Bimo, brother JST. "The witnesses who were read out were two people, namely Brigadier General NSW, brother of HTS," said Ramadhan.

It is known that Napoleon was found guilty in a corruption case, namely accepting bribes related to the abolition of the name of the convicted Bank Bali cessie corruption convict, Djoko Tjandra, on the red notice list.

In that case, Napoleon Bonaparte was sentenced to 4 years in prison plus a fine of Rp. 100 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison and has been released from the Cipinang Penitentiary (Lapas), East Jakarta since April 17, 2023.
