Convinced Hanura Consistently Supports Ganjar, Megawati: It Can't Change

JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri believes that the Hanura Party's support for Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate (candidate) will be consistent until the 2024 presidential election.

According to Megawati, the support of Hanura Chairman Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO) will not change. Moreover, Hanura was the first political party to express support to PDIP.

This was conveyed by Megawati after welcoming OSO's visit with Hanura staff at the PDIP DPP office, Jalan Diponegoro, Menteng, Jakarta, Monday, August 28.

"With him, what do I mean, it can't change," said Megawati.

Megawati admitted that her friendship with OSO had been around for a long time. So he believes Hanura's political cooperation commitment with PDIP.

"So I just called him Bang OSO. Even though he is younger than me. So it's not clear back and forth. The important thing is that we are enthusiastic and it is the cooperation that I can convey at this time," he said.

Therefore, Megawati considered it reasonable to hold a meeting with the Hanura Party this time to be held for a long time. Because, he said, political cooperation must be emphasized how it will take.

"But in terms of this collaboration, we have to emphasize the form of cooperation so that there are no different thoughts," he said.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said the political cooperation that was built between PDIP and other political parties in carrying out the presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo was due to openness, volunteerism and similarity of perspectives on Indonesia.

"Hanura under the leadership of Bang Oso shows more concrete, enthusiastic, optimistic and complementary work," said Hasto on the sidelines of the PDIP meeting with the Hanura Party at the PDIP DPP Office.

Hasto also said that PDIP and supporting parties for Ganjar still place the importance of political communication. He mentioned that Ganjar Pranowo will soon spend time serving as Governor of Central Java, and after that he will be ready to have a dialogue with all levels of society, accommodate ideas, input and talk about his ideas about Indonesia in the future.

"Therefore, we hope that the campaign is a forum for fighting ideas and ideas, not a stage for hate speech, let alone on behalf of SARA," said Hasto.

Hasto emphasized that the cooperation between PDIP and supporting political parties will also encourage Ganjar to have his own branding power as the person with the most capacity to continue the success of the Jokowi administration.

"PDI-P appreciates Hanura, especially for the model of support that chose to work in the field first, raise the people, and only held a meeting that coincided with the electoral momentum of Bung Ganjar which was skyrocketing and had rebounded and moved together to continue Pak Jokowi's success," explained Hasto.
