BANDA ACEH - Investigator of the Bener Meriah Police Traffic Unit, Aceh, has stopped investigating an accident case that resulted in the death of five people.

Aceh Police Traffic Director Kombes Muhammad Iqbal Alqudusy said the termination of the investigation of the case was because the suspect died.

"This case does not end peacefully as media reports, but the investigation is stopped for the sake of law or SP3 because the suspect died," Iqbal said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, August 25.

A fatal accident occurred in the area of Pintu Rime Gayo, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh, on August 15, 2023, involving a Toyota Avanza minibus with a truck that resulted in the death of five people.

According to Iqbal, the termination of the traffic accident case was based on the results of the crime scene processing and the results of the accident analysis with applications and witness statements.

From the results of the case title, it was revealed that the traffic accident which resulted in the death of five people due to negligence of the minibus driver.

"Based on case processing data, analysis of events, as well as witness statements, and others, the suspect is the driver of the Toyota Avanza minibus. The driver died in the incident," he said.

Therefore, for the sake of legal certainty, investigators issued a letter of termination of case investigation (SP3) and also invited the victim's family to get an explanation of the process from the case.
