PUPR: Realization Of IKN Logistics Pier Construction Reaches 92 Percent

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the National Capital Infrastructure Development Implementation Task Force (IKN) revealed that the physical realization of the construction of the Nusantara IKN logistics pier reached 92 percent. "The physical realization of the IKN logistics dock construction has so far reached 92 percent and is targeted to operate in September 2023," said the Head of the Task Force (Kasatgas) for the Implementation of the Sumadilaga Danis Infrastructure Development in Balikpapan Bay, East Kalimantan, Antara, Wednesday, August 23. This logistics pier was built by the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways to support logistics for the construction of the IKN Access Toll Road Sections 5B, 6A, and 6B as well as the construction of VVIP Airport. Danis added that the presence of logistics piers could accelerate the construction of these projects as well as other IKN development projects in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP). This logistics dock is equipped with an area or stockyard that functions for the storage of goods and building construction materials, with an area of 10,000 square meters. "The construction of projects, especially Mega projects such as IKN Nusantara, is located in the chain of logistics supply (supply chain logistics)," said Danis. In the development of the basic infrastructure of IKN Nusantara, the Ministry of PUPR certainly not only builds logistics piers but also builds logistics roads to accelerate and facilitate logistical support for development. The Ministry of PUPR continues to improve connectivity to the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) area, one of which is by accelerating the construction of the Toll Road to the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of IKN.

The toll road, which will be connected to the Balikpapan-Samarinda (Balsam) Toll Road, will shorten the distance from Balikpapan to the IKN Core Area, which was previously from about two hours to only about 30 minutes.
