PAN Proposes The Name Of The Prabowo Supporting Coalition To Be Changed, PKB: Please, Most Importantly Cak Imin's Vice Presidential Candidate

JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) responded to the proposal for a new name for the coalition supporting Prabowo Subianto that PAN wanted after joining the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) with Golkar. PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid admitted that his party was open if the name of the coalition formed with Gerindra wanted to be changed. As long as, he said, Prabowo's partner vice presidential seat was still filled by the General Chairperson of PKB, Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin. "There are no other names yet. His name is still the Greater Indonesia Coalition," he said.

Although there is no new name proposal yet, according to him, the most important thing for PKB is the substance of the coalition which is far more important. "Yes, it's enough that there is, it's more important in its contents," said Jazilul.

Previously, PAN proposed that the name of the coalition party supporting Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate in 2024 be changed to a shorter one.

The chairman of the PAN faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, assessed that changing the name of the coalition needs to be reformulated by Prabowo's supporting parties in order to be in line with the government's work if they win the 2024 election later. "If we, the name of the coalition, can be formulated again. The name needs to be made short, simple, and easy to remember by the community," said Saleh, Monday, August 14. "If later elected, it is also easy to be reminded that the government's work is in accordance with and in line with the name of the coalition," he continued.

The chairman of the PAN DPP also gave several alternatives. First, the name of the coalition must combine the names of the existing coalitions. Second, create new names that represent supporting parties and the vision and mission of the presidential candidates. "However, whatever the name is, it doesn't matter, the important thing is how to move and turn on the political machine for Prabowo's victory," he said.
