UIN Surakarta Freezes Dema In The Aftermath Of Maba Asked To Register For Pinjol Which Is A Sponsor

SURAKARTA - Raden Mas Surakarta State Islamic University (UIN) temporarily suspended the Student Council (Dema) organization in the aftermath of the 2023 Academic Cultural Introduction and Student Affairs (PBAK).

"The village has been temporarily suspended for an undetermined period and the chairman of Dema has been removed," said Deputy Chancellor I for Academics and Development of the UIN Raden Mas Institute Said Surakarta Imam Makruf in Sukoharjo as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

In addition to these sanctions, the university decided to take over the 2023 PBAK activities.

"PBAK was taken over by the university and carried out by universities and faculties under the coordination of the Deputy Chancellor for Academics and Institutional Development," he said.

In addition, his party will also immediately hold a meeting with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for consultations related to these activities.

"We are coordinating with OJK, legal or not," he said.

The sanction was also conveyed in front of a number of students who took action in front of the rectorate. The students asked the university leadership to immediately take firm action against the individuals involved in the incident.

Previously, UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta was in the spotlight after the Student Council (Dema) collaborated with the application and allegedly asked new students to register for a marketplace and online loans (pinjol) as sponsors at the 2023 PBAK activities.
