Preventing Corruption Cases Of KONI Grant Funds Repeated, Kemenpora-KPK Will Make Applications

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) are working together to prevent corruption. They asked that an application that created a grant for sports unity could be monitored by the public.

KPK Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan said that the recommendations for this application were actually not new goods. His party has conveyed it to the Ministry of Youth and Sports after the corruption case of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).

"Our recommendation at that time was only one. Make an application where people can see the proposal from anywhere, how much, what criteria are allowed in the proposal, what are the approvals and what kind of accountability. It's that simple," said Pahala at the Ministry of Youth and Sports office, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 25.

This recommendation was asked for his follow-up to Menpora Dito Ariotedjo in today's meeting. As a result, in the near future the public will be able to open a report on grant funds at the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

"In the future, this application is expected to cooperate with the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) and be distributed to the provincial government. It is believed that this step will not waste the budget because they do not need a similar application, said Pahala.

"And that's the car version too," he said.

"We think that in the near future, we will launch it to the community. Please access it plus protest if something goes wrong with the KPK," continued Pahala.

Meanwhile, Dito ensured that he would build an anti-corruption culture at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. There have been a number of steps he has taken since his inauguration.

In fact, the National Police Chief has just appointed former senior KPK investigator Ambarita Damanik who is now a state civil servant (ASN) of the National Police as an expert at the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He was assigned as an expert in the field of corruption prevention.

"So these are my commitment steps to the management of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, God willing, they will always be saved and kept away from corrupt practices and maladministration," he concluded.
