The Mandalika Circuit held the Regional edition of the Shell Eco-montal 2023 Asia Pacific and the Middle East on July 4-9. Amazingly, a team from three universities in Indonesia won all titles in the Urban Concept category, namely Internal Combustion Engine, Hydrogen Fuel Cell, and Battery Electric.

The three universities in Indonesia are ITS Team Sapuangin from the Sepember Tenth Institute of Technology (Internal Combustion Engine), Semar Urban UGM from Gadjah Mada University (Hydrogen Fuel Cell), and APate 62 Brawijaya Team 1 from Universitas Brawijaya (Battery Electric) wiped out all the title subcategories of Urban Concept.

Of the nine podiums, Indonesia dominates with only one country, Singapore secures two podiums of rank two and three respectively in the Hydrogen Fuel Cell subcategory, namely HYD120GEN from Nanyang Technological University and TP ECO FLASH from Temasek Polytechnic.

ITS Team Sapuangin recorded a time of 422.9 km/l in the Internal Combustion Engine category. The achievement of this team from Surabaya is much better than last year's achievement in the same category, namely 270.3 km/l.

In the Hydrogen Fuel Cell subcategory, Semar Urban UGM achieved a record figure of 276.4 km per cubic meter. A separate achievement for the Yogyakarta team because twice as good as the same subcategory champion last year, namely TP ECO FLASH from Temasek Polytechnic Singapore with 137.0 km per meter, as well as being the first Indonesian team to win the subcategory.
