Front Wheel Doesn't Come Out, This Plane Is Able To Land Smoothly And No Passengers Injured

JAKARTA - The ease of the pilots, cabin crew and passengers made this airline plane able to land smoothly on the runway, even though the front wheels of the plane did not come out when it was about to make a landing.

The Boeing 717 aircraft with flight number 1092 belonging to the Delta Air Lines airline took off from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Atlanta, Georgia, Wednesday, June 28 at 07.25 local time, to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT), Charlotte North Carolina, United States, citing the Delta Air Lines June 30 website.

As approaching CLT, the pilot received an indication of "nose gear unsafe". The crew began the applicable procedures to further investigate these indications.

Citing CNN, the plane flew past the air traffic control tower, so the supervisors can visually inspect the aircraft. The observations showed the front wheel door of the plane was already open, but the wheels of the plane did not come out.

"After a series of maneuvers and ongoing communications with air traffic surveillance at CLT Airport to address further indication issues, the pilot landed the plane on CLT, with the front wheel not out, at 08:58 EDT," Delta said on its website.

"After the plane stopped on the runway, the flight attendants took customers through a safe evacuation via an emergency slide. There were 104 people on board including the Delta crew," the airline continued.

"No injuries to the customer or crew have been reported," the airline said.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed the emergency landing occurred last Wednesday. Although there were no injuries, the airport closed the runway.

"I can see the image of the plane and can see there are no front wheels below. It was a smooth landing and the pilot and crew were amazing. Calm down and calm down in the cabin and everyone remained calm," said a passenger named Chris Skotarczak.

At around 7 pm, the airport announced on its website that the plane had been removed from the 18R/36L Pacu Runway and the runway had been inspected.

"Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people," Delta said in a statement to CNN.

"While this is rare, Delta flight crews train extensively to manage safely through many scenarios and flight 1092 lands safely without reported injuries. We apologize to our customers for their experience," the airline continued.

As a result of the incident, a number of Delta flights experienced delays. Despite the incident, the other two runways at the airport remained open.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Council will launch an investigation into the incident, finding out why the aircraft's front wheels did not exit.
