JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah stated that the joint leave of Eid al-Adha on June 28 and 30, 2023 was of choice or in accordance with the agreement between workers and the company and included in annual leave for workers. "Together leave is part of the annual leave. Then, the implementation of collective leave is of choice, in accordance with the agreement between employers and workers or labor unions," said the Minister of Manpower during a press conference on Eid al-Adha leave at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Office, Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 22. The government through the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Three Ministers set June 28 and 30, 2023 as a joint leave for Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri/2023 AD. Meanwhile, June 29, 2023 is a national holiday to commemorate Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri/2023 AD. Ida said collective leave for workers was adjusted to company regulations or work agreements taking into account the company's operational conditions and needs. For workers who take collective leave, said Ida, it will reduce their annual leave rights, as stated in the circular letter of the Minister of Manpower Number M / 3 / HK.04 / IV / 2022 concerning the Implementation of Joint Leave to Companies. Then, workers or laborers who work on collective leave days, their annual leave rights do not decrease, and workers will be paid wages such as weekdays. "So, what has changed is the Coordinating Minister's annual leave, if the national holiday is still one. Well, the provisions regarding collective leave as I said earlier," he said. Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy said the determination of the joint leave of Eid al-Adha 1444 Hijri/2023 AD as a momentum to mark the transition period of the pandemic to the endemic of COVID-19. "This joint session will later be a sign of the momentum transition from the pandemic to the endemic as has also been announced by the President," said Muhadjir.

Muhadjir said the addition of this joint leave was also a driving force for the economy in the local tourism sector, especially since the momentum of the long holiday also coincided with the school holiday. Thus, he hopes that the public can take advantage of this momentum as best they can.
