Menkumham Puji Program Rehabilitation Of Tanjungpinang Prison Inmates

TANJUNGPINANG - Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna H. Laoly praised the program of inmates at the Class IIA Tanjungpinang Narcotics Prison developed by the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office (Kepri).

"I really appreciate all the work units of the Riau Islands Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office who have optimally fostered correctional inmates," said Yasonna H. Laoly while visiting the Tanjungpinang Narcotics Class IIA Prison as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 17.

Yasonna said coaching is a very important key for the survival of society.

He appreciated the policy of collaborating in coaching with certain companies at the Class IIA Tanjungpinang Narcotics Prison for providing opportunities for all correctional inmates to return to normal life.

The Minister of Law and Human Rights during this visit had the opportunity to greet the inmates of the Tanjungpinang Narcotics Class IIA prison.

He advised all inmates to always behave well in carrying out their detention period. Likewise, if it is out so as not to commit a crime again.

"Give the best behavior during this rehabilitation period, learn a lot and take advantage of the facilities provided by prisons so that they can be ready to develop after leaving here (prisons)," he said.

In front of the inmates, Yasonnam said that he had just signed an extension of the COVID-19 assimilation program. The program, which is a process of fostering prisoners and children, is carried out by facilitating prisoners and children in people's lives to prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak in prisons and detention centers with certain conditions.

Minister Yasonna asked the inmates to help the Ministry of Law and Human Rights who have been fighting for their rights by way of keeping the situation in prison conducive.

"If there is a problem later, run, make a fuss outside, change the rules that we have fought for. So help so that there is no turmoil, don't let there be no more remissions," he said.

Minister Yasonna, who was accompanied by Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad, was met with a former inmate who had returned to the community and worked at a company in Riau Islands as a security officer or security guard with a recommendation from the Correctional Center (Bapas).

In total there were 101 former inmates who received the recommendation and worked to spread to ten companies in Riau Islands.
