Borobudur Temple Sterile Visitors On June 1 At 13.00 WIB

MAGELANG - Borobudur Temple is sterile from visitors on Thursday (1/6) at 13.00 WIB, because it is for religious rituals activities for thudong monks from Thailand.

"On June 1, starting at 13.00 WIB, the Borobudur Temple monument was closed to visitors, because a number of thungong monks would perform puja bakti in the temple," said General Manager of the Borobudur Unit Jamal Mawardi, in Magelang, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 31.

Tourists who will take the temple are opened early at 08.00 to 12.00 WIB.

"At 12.00 WIB, the position was in the temple so that an hour in the temple until 13.00 WIB was sterile from the support," he said.

Jamal said the thidong monks were scheduled to perform a road ritual from Pawon Temple at around 13.00 WIB and it was estimated that it would reach Borobudur Temple at 13.30 WIB.

"The reception here (Borobudur) at 13.30 WIB at the gate of Kalpataru. We opened the gate of Kalpataru so that later the monks could immediately go up to Borobudur Temple. There was a welcome to them but not ceremonial, as our respect for them later there will be a distribution of flowers delicious at night as a means of their puja during the predaksina at the temple," he said.

It was emphasized that the visitors' sterile area was only in the temple building, while visitors could still enjoy it from the temple yard, such as regular hours.
