BLITAR - Innovation of farmers in Blitar Regency, East Java, developed an organic liquid "Biosaka" that is able to improve the quality of land and plants received appreciation from the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.

"This biosaka is an extraordinary reference for how we save and return to nature. This organic fertilizer is a symbol of natural recovery, considering that chemical fertilizers have always been used in our agriculture for tens or even hundreds of years. Moreover, the results of the use of Biosaka are very multifunctional," said Governor Khofifah during the Inpari 32 rice harvest in Soso Village, Gandusari District, Blitar Regency, Saturday.

He appreciated agricultural products in this village. Inpari 32 rice plants thrive thanks to the Biosaka liquid made by the Poktan farmers of the Rukun II Substation, Gandusari Blitar.

The use of Biosaka in Blitar has started in 2019 and has now been applied to more than 11,000 hectares of land. This liquid is not only for rice, but can be used for various vegetables and fruits.

This Biosaka liquid was created by a farmer from Blitar named Muhamad Ansar who has been recorded at Kemenhumkam Number 000399067. Biosaka stands for the word Bio as a symbol of plants and SAKA or "Save Nature Returns to Nature."

"This is a form of revitalization of agricultural land planting media. And it is a very good reference for how agricultural production can be maintained, rice resistance to pest attacks is getting better, but land revitalization is also built with more massive non-chemical fertilizers," he said.

The number one person in East Java is also optimistic that the use of Biosaka can be a more effective and inexpensive alternative to agriculture.

"We know that the world is experiencing a fertilizer problem due to the impact of the Russian war in Ukraine. The fossils imported for chemical fertilizers are becoming expensive. So this is a basic need for how we create our own non-chemical fertilizer," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 27.

After harvesting rice, Governor Khofifah and Blitar Regent Rini Syarifah also tried to make Biosaka organic fertilizer with the Poktan Substation Rukun II.
