Need 70 Officers And 8 Fire Fleet To Put Out Fires In Payakumbuh Padang, Losses Estimated At IDR 1.3 Billion

SUMBAR - At least five houses were heavily damaged due to the fire that occurred on Jalan Payakumbuh, Nanggalo District, Padang City, West Sumatra Province (West Sumatra).

The Head of Operations for Facilities and Infrastructure of the Padang City Fire Department (Damkar), Sutan Hendra, said the red rooster was successfully arrested after 70 firefighters and 8 fire engines were deployed.

"We managed to prevent it so that the fire did not spread and the value saved was around Rp. 3 billion with an area of 4,000 square meters," he said, confiscated by Antara, Thursday, May 25.

Hendra said, from the testimony of the fire witness, it appeared from one of the residents' houses and immediately reported to the firefighters on Thursday, May 25 at around 14:16 WIB.

He said the location of the fire was in a narrow alley and was constrained by traffic jams, so the blackout took time.

Based on data in the field, he said, the fire covered an area of 5,000 square meters and resulted in five houses occupied by five families being heavily damaged.

"A total of 23 people live in the building and they are currently taking refuge from their homes," he said.

According to him, the fire was estimated to have caused losses of up to Rp1.3 billion.

He appealed to residents to increase their vigilance because fires are prone to occur during the hot weather.

"When leaving the house, be more careful and check everything that can cause a source of fire due to hot weather," he said.
