Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono ensured that the shophouse building in Pluit Karang Niaga, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, which violated Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2021, would still be demolished even though the owner had not dismantled it independently.

"There are several shophouses that have been dismantled. Those that have not yet (tomorday) will have law enforcement (dismantling based on regional regulations)," said Heru after reviewing public health service facilities at the Pademangan District Health Center, North Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

A number of shophouse and shop house employees (ruko) tenants in Block Z4 Utara and Block Z8 Selatan, Pluit Karang Niaga, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, had rejected the shophouse building that annexed the shoulder of the road and the water channel was dismantled.

However, the protest was not directed by residents to the government, but to the Head of RT 011/RW 03 Riang Prasetya.

The employees and shophouse tenants assessed that the head of RT 011/RW 03 Riang Prasetya acted arrogantly with his statement that he wanted to dismantle the shophouse building which violated the rules at Pluit Karang Niaga.

North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim said the independent demolition must have been carried out by the owner of the shophouse building which violated the rules at Pluit Karang Niaga until the grace period on Tuesday ended.

This was conveyed by Ali on the sidelines of the Gathering of the Family Welfare Empowerment Team (PKK), Dharma Wanita Persatuan and Dekranasda of DKI Jakarta Province at the Bentar Temple Hall, Putri Duyung Resort Ancol, Pademangan, North Jakarta.

"Why unload, so that the belongings are still good, yes. Some have dismantled generator buildings, some have dismantled wall buildings, some have dismantled their roofs," he said.

According to the rules. "The important thing is the basis of the certificate," said Ali.

Ali said, based on a temporary report until Tuesday morning there were still shophouses that had not been dismantled. This is because it is difficult for Saturday and Sunday to find workers who can dismantle them during the weekend holidays.

Nevertheless, Ali said, no further dispensation was given to the shop owner after the grace period for self-dismantling ended on Tuesday.

"No (there is a dispensation), tomorrow we will dismantle it. That doesn't mean we will dismantle everything. But later they will continue," said Ali.
