DKI Jakarta KPU Has Received 16 DPD RI Babileg Registrants

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) has received 16 registrants as prospective members of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD). "The DPD is 16 out of 26 candidates, so we are waiting for approximately 10 until the end of the May 14 deadline," said Commissioner of the DKI Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPU) for the Technical Division of Election Implementation, Nurdin when met at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office in Jakarta, Antara, Friday, May 12. Meanwhile, political parties that have registered the DKI Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), namely the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), the National Democratic Party (Nasdem), the United Development Party (PPP) and the National Mandate Party (PAN). According to Nurdin, the registration file for the DPD RI is much easier when compared to the prospective legislative candidate (bacaleg) of the DPRD. Residents who want to register as legislators of the DPD RI only need to collect a registration form and a statement form. "For the DPRD, there is an application for a political party to apply for a form D, there is a list of candidates. This candidate list contains 10 times because we have 10 electoral districts. Then there is a letter of approval from the central leadership," he said. He hopes that all DPD and DPRD legislators do not submit registration requirements on the last day in order to avoid a buildup of administrative data. The DKI Jakarta KPU said three political parties would register the DKI Jakarta DPRD legislative party on Friday. The three parties, namely PAN, PSI and PKB.

Meanwhile, PKS, Hanura, Nasdem, PDIP and PPP have registered their legislators to fight for the DPRD seats in the 2024 election.
