Iran Affirms Al-Quds Day Is A World Momentum To Support Palestine's Liberation

JAKARTA - Iran says that Al-Quds International Day is a world community momentum to demand the release of Al-Quds and support the oppressed Palestinian people remains the world's first priority.

Iran condemns every action aimed at putting aside these priorities and efforts to divert the minds of Muslims.

The founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatullah Ruhollah Khomeini, has designated the last Friday of Ramadan as the Al-Quds International Day to support Palestinian independence.

"Beefing Baitul Maqdis is the same as defending the house and glorifying freedom", said Iran Embassy Business Authority for Indonesia Mahdi Rounagh in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Thursday.

On that day Muslims in various Islamic countries and humanitarian supporters as well as freedom prosecutors will hold various activities and solidarity actions as a form of support for the Palestinian people.

Al-Quds International Day is celebrated by various communities in nearly 80 countries, even in countries with Muslim population minorities. "Supporting and defending Al-Quds Al-Sharif is not limited to Muslims and Islamic countries," Mahdi added.

According to Mahdi, there are a number of important aspects of the commemoration of Al-Quds International Day, namely to revive Palestinian issues, support the Palestinian people and their resistance to fight injustice, fight terrorism in the form of colonialism and condemn major strength interventions in the region.

"The massive celebration of Al-Quds Day is very meaningful for the Palestinian people because Al-Quds International Day is a reflection and role of the Islamic world in efforts to real Palestinian liberation," he said.

Iran considers the democratic and political solution to the Palestinian issue to grant the right to self-determination and return all Palestinian refugees to their homeland and the holding of a comprehensive and free referendum throughout the Palestinian territories attended by all indigenous Palestinians before the United Nations (UN).

"This is a solution as well as a fair solution to the rights of the Palestinian people who are oppressed," said Mahdi.
