Police AKan Take Strict Action On Batang Community Lighting Or Selling Firecrackers During Ramadan And Eid

Batang Police, Central Java, ensures that they will take firm action against people who will turn on or trade in firecrackers during Ramadan until Eid 2023 at a number of strategic points.

Batang Police Chief AKBP Saufi Salamun in Batang, Friday, said that his party would take firm action against sellers and people who traded firecrackers and started firecrackers.

"We will not tolerate and take firm action against traders or people who sell or turn on firecrackers during Ramadan until Lebaran 2023," said the police chief, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 31.

AKBP Saufi Salamun assesses that the explosive goods are very dangerous for themselves and others.

For perpetrators who are proven to have committed these violations, he said, they will be subject to Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.

It was also said that the installation of ban banners was in a number of strategic locations such as environmental security posts, village halls, and public areas to make it easy for the public to read.

He hopes that all parties, especially community leaders and religious leaders, will convey to residents about the prohibition of producing or lighting firecrackers.

"We hope that the public understands the dangers of lighting firecrackers. In addition, let's keep the security and security conditions ahead of Eid," he said.
