Ridwan Kamil And Uncle Karwo's Political Appeal Is Predicted To Be The Key To Golkar's Victory In West Java And East Java

JAKARTA - West Java (West Java) Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK), who has just joined the Golkar Party, is predicted to have an electoral impact. RK is considered capable of attracting the young voter segment for Golkar because of its great political appeal, especially in West Java.

Not only RK, the return of former Governor of East Java (East Java) Soekarwo or Pakde Karwo to Golkar is also said to have an impact on the party's vote acquisition later.

BRIN political researcher Aisah Putri believes that the two figures are popular and can become key actors in their respective regional bases when the 2024 elections are held.

"Pakde Karwo and RK are popular and influential politicians in two significant areas for the national political map, especially since West Java and East Java are the two largest electoral districts in Indonesia. This will benefit Golkar ahead of the 2024 Election, because both of them can become key actors to push for victory Golkar in the Pileg or Presidential Election," said Puput in Jakarta, Friday, January 20.

According to her, RK and Pakde Karwo can not only become candidates, but also can become campaigners and actors determining the winning strategy in the two electoral districts. In fact, said Puput, in the long run, the figures of RK and Pakde Karwo could have their spurs at the national level.

"Pakde Karwo and RK, I suspect, in the future will become increasingly influential politicians at the national level," she said.

Regarding RK, who recently joined Golkar, Puput sees that his relationship with the party can be structured for the long term. Apart from being a young politician, RK has strong potential for Golkar.

"In particular for RK, the potential is very strong if Golkar succeeds in cadre formation and playing the political power of the RK," said Puput.

RK has a political career with Golkar because he sees the party as a symbol of wanting to be stable and big. So the rational choice was to give RK the opportunity to play a role and support him for the progress of the party.

"Thus, RK has strong enough capital to get political career opportunities that are increasingly influential in the future," she said.
