Men In East Jakarta Are Secured By Residents When Trying To Steal Motorcycles With Key Rebution Mode

JAKARTA - A man with the initials JM was arrested by residents after trying to steal a motorbike on Jalan Ahmad Yani, East Jakarta, Sunday, November 24, at around 02.53 WIB. The perpetrator was one of the two people involved in the theft.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi, explained that the incident began when the victim was riding his motorbike at a slow pace. Suddenly, two perpetrators approached the victim and immediately took the key from the motorcycle stop.

After the motorcycle engine died, the two perpetrators tried to take the motorcycle from the victim. However, the victim, with the initials FH, fought fiercely.

"One of the perpetrators used a helmet to hit the victim's head, scratched his neck, and threw a stone that hit the victim's back," said Ade Ary, Sunday, November 24.

Despite the attack, the victim continued to fight back. The resistance attracted the attention of local residents, who then helped arrest JM. Meanwhile, JM's colleagues managed to escape from the pursuit of residents.

"The perpetrator JM was arrested along with evidence in the form of stones and motorbikes belonging to the victim. The perpetrator was then handed over to the Pulogadung Police for further legal proceedings," explained Ade Ary.

Currently, the police are still pursuing JM's colleagues who managed to escape. This case is being investigated to reveal the possible involvement of the perpetrators in other thefts.
