DPRD Gives Notes To The DKI Provincial Government: Expand Flats For People Affected By Ciliwung Normalization 2023

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will accelerate the flood control program in using the budget next year. Chairman of Commission D of the DKI DPRD Ida Maheasy noted, don't forget the construction of simple flats for rental or flats.

Ida explained that the Rusunawa is needed by residents whose housing is affected by land acquisition for the Ciliwung River normalization program as an effort to overcome flooding in Jakarta.

"At the commission meeting, one of the main things that became our concert was that our flood management was indeed concerned about what kind of solution it must be. That's why we really encourage the provincial government to build more flats," Ida told reporters, Wednesday, November 30.

According to Ida, the two areas that need to be added to the placement of flats for residents affected by normalization are South Jakarta (Jaksel) and West Jakarta (Jakbar).

"Indeed, we both know that in South Jakarta and West Jakarta there are less flats. So, for whom this flat is for, this flat is for people who currently live on riverbanks," he said.

"This is so that everything can be resolved, normalized and so on. One of our proposals is for the local government to prepare flats for local residents," continued Ida.

In the Draft Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) for the 2023 fiscal year, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government allocates around Rp. 10 trillion for handling Jakarta floods. This program is included in the DKI Provincial Government's work priorities next year.

From the budget ceiling, the DKI Provincial Government has allocated a land acquisition budget for the flood program of Rp700 billion. Where, Rp300 billion of which is intended as land acquisition for the banks of the Ciliwung River.

Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono targets the normalization of the Ciliwung River to be exploited when he takes office for several years.

During his leadership of Jakarta, he targets the construction of normalization of Ciliwung to be carried out up to 4.8 kilometers from the target of returning the 33-kilometer river capacity.

Meanwhile, Head of the DKI Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Areas (DPRKP) Sarjoko said that his party would build a simple rental flat (rusunawa) which would be inhabited by residents affected by the relocation of the Ciliwung River normalization program. The construction of this flat is budgeted for from 2023 to 2024.

"We are preparing (a series for residents affected by normalization) in South Jakarta. We will build this on Jalan Margasatwa in 2023-2024," said Sarjoko to reporters, Thursday, October 27.
