JAKARTA - The Palestinian Commission for Prisoners and Former Prisoners and Prisoners of Palestine announced 90 Palestinian prisoners are scheduled to be released from Israeli prison on Saturday, as part of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
In a joint statement, the two organizations confirmed that this release would include 81 detainees serving long-term sentences and nine others who were sentenced to life imprisonment.
This release follows the third stage of the release of prisoners under the Gaza ceasefire agreement which took effect overnight.
As reported by ANTARA from WAFA, Friday, January 31, at that stage, Israeli authorities released 110 detainees, including 32 prisoners with life sentences, 48 with various sentences, and 30 minors.
The current ceasefire in Gaza is an internationally mediated agreement aimed at ending Israel's 470-day attack on Gaza.
