Experienced Many Obstacles, Apple Cancels AR Glasses Project

JAKARTA Apple's plan to develop Augmented Reality (AR) glasses doesn't seem to be going well. Apple found a lot of obstacles so they stopped the project.

Reporting from a Bloomberg report, Apple stopped this big project because it was difficult to develop something big while saving costs. The AR glasses with codename N107 also failed to be tested.

Initially, Apple wanted to make these glasses connect to the iPhone, but this ability eroded too much power. In addition, the iPhone also doesn't have enough power to power the device.

With this failure, Apple turned to Mac. The integration of glasses to Mac is also not going well for executives during testing. This continued failure made Apple give up until it ended its project.

In fact, Apple's AR eyewear design sounds quite sophisticated. The company not only wants to connect glasses to its devices, but also presents the Vision Pro feature into the lens of the glasses.

N107 is also planned to have a color-changing lens, similar to Eye Sight in Vision Pro. This ability can signal whether the user is busy or not. Unfortunately, all these innovations will not materialize.

By canceling the N107 project, Apple is increasingly lagging behind other technology companies. Meta continues to develop Ray-Ban smart glasses with more advanced features, while Samsung is nearing the final stages of making smart glasses.
