It's Just A Matter Of Time Seeing Mardani Maming On The Prison Chair At Banjarmasin Corruption Court

JAKARTA - The former Regent of Tanah Bumbu, Mardani H. Maming, will soon be tried in the Corruption Court at the Banjarmasin District Court regarding the alleged bribery of mining permits. The KPK Public Prosecutor (JPU) has handed over his files and indictment letter today, Monday, October 31.

"KPK Prosecutor Budhi S. has finished transferring the defendant's file and the indictment with the Defendant Mardani Maming to the Corruption Court at the Banjarmasin District Court," said the Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, October 31.

Ali said the prosecutor was still waiting for Mardani's trial schedule with an agenda for reading the indictment. As for detention, it is now the jurisdiction of the court.

Mardani, continued Ali, will still be undergoing temporary detention at the KPK Rutan Pomdam Jaya Guntur Branch.

"For the trial schedule with the agenda of reading the indictment by the Prosecutor's Team, we are still waiting for the issuance of the determination of the trial day and the appointment of a panel of judges from the Banjarmasin District Court Corruption Panmud," he said.

The public is asked to continue to monitor the case that ensnared Mardani. "Soon we will inform further developments," said Ali.

As previously reported, the KPK named Mardani H. Maming as a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification of mining business licenses in Tanah Bumbu Regency. He was identified as a suspect recipient.

Meanwhile, as the giver, Hendry Soetio who is the controller of PT Prolindo Cipta Nusantara (PCN) was declared dead.

Even though he died, the KPK confirmed that investigators had received evidence related to Mardani's acceptance.

The former General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) allegedly received money from Hendry from 2014 to 2020 reaching IDR 104.3 billion, which was received through trusted people and his company.
