Update On COVID-19 As Of August 27: New Cases 4,170, Added 2,514

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 81,575 specimens were examined with the results of 4,170 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,343,076 people and active cases have increased by 1,641 to 48,189 cases", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Saturday, August 27.

Today's recovered cases increased by 2,514 cases, bringing the total to 6,137,394 recovered people. Then, 15 positive confirmations died and a total of 157,493 people.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 1,912 cases and a total of 1,389,487 cases. Followed by West Java with 879 new cases with a total of 1,162,896 cases. Banten has 462 new cases and a total of 328,047 cases. Then, East Java with 298 new cases and a total of 596,320 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 713 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 536 recovered cases, East Java with an additional 332 recovered cases, and Banten with an additional 266 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 106.406,169.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 10.81 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 6,021 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 203,273,628 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 170,864,121 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 60,225,235 and the fourth dose was 284,044. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
