JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opened the opportunity to delve into the involvement of PT Telkomsel's senior management in the alleged corruption in the procurement of banking notification services. The deepening was carried out after investigators obtained information regarding the parties suspected of conditioning in the procurement of goods and services (PBJ).
"Yes, later we will investigate whether it is indeed a need for the investigation team for the adequacy of the evidence," said Acting Director of Investigation of the KPK Achmad Taufik Husein to reporters quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 2.
According to Taufik, one of the alleged acts against the law that is being investigated is the conditioning in the appointment of certain vendors in the procurement process.
In addition, the involvement of telecommunications service providers, including Telkomsel, will be investigated by investigators. "We ensure that if there are indeed facts related to his actions, of course we will investigate and will make summonses," he said.
Meanwhile, investigators are currently still studying documents and results of examinations obtained at the investigation stage. So, said Taufik, the KPK has not revealed the parties suspected of being responsible in the case.
"So this, for the investigation process of this notification case, has just risen to the investigation stage, so the investigators are still deepening the documents from the investigation because this is indeed from the open investigation," said Taufik.
"So the documents and the results of the examinations that were carried out during the investigation are being investigated by the investigation team," he continued.
The KPK is known to have started an investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement of banking notifications at Himbara Bank and PT Telkom (Persero), Tbk. The investigation order (sprindik) has been issued but there are no suspects in it.
In the alleged corruption, the KPK said there had been state losses. The initial count was said to have reached Rp2 trillion but the amount could still change as the count continued.
