Bawaslu Rejects Reports Of The Berkarya Party And The Congress Party On KPU

JAKARTA - The General Elections Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) has decided to reject reports of alleged administrative violations at the registration stage of political parties as candidates for the 2024 General Election with the Berkarya Party and the Congress Party as reporters.

"Determining, stating that the report cannot be accepted and has not been followed up", said Bawaslu Chairman, Rahmat Bagja, as reported by ANTARA on Friday, August 26.

The Assembly thinks that the object of the violation reported by the complainant is unclear considering that the actions taken by the reported party are not clearly stated, namely the General Elections Commission (KPU) as a violation of election administration and the provisions of the law being violated.

At this trial, Bawaslu held a hearing to read a preliminary verdict on four reports of alleged violations of the 2024 election administration.

For two other reports, namely Partai Bhinneka Indonesia and Partai Kedaulatan Rakyat, according to Bagja, the trial assembly concluded and declared that the reports met the requirements. The report, he continued, was followed up with an examination hearing.

He said that the Bawaslu Examining Council in the preliminary examination session examined the report documents to decide whether the report requirements were fulfilled.

The assembly examines the formal and material requirements of the report, then the authority to resolve reports of alleged electoral administrative violations.

Next, the trial assembly also examines the position or status of the complainant and the reported party, as well as the time limit for reporting alleged electoral administrative violations.

During the two-day preliminary hearing, Bawaslu examined 8 reports of administrative violations that allegedly occurred during the registration stage of political parties as candidates for the 2024 General Election.

Four reports were examined on the first day of trial, Thursday, August 25. At the trial, Bawaslu decided to follow up on two complaints and rejected two reports of alleged election administration violations.
