Religious Joint Team Finds a Grandmother Who Was Lost Safely

LUBUK BASUNG - The Agam Regency Government Joint Team, West Sumatra, has successfully found Saridan (100) a resident of Titisan Tunggang, Jorong Sungai Jariang, Persiapan Sungai Jariang Village, Lubuk Basung District, who was reported missing by his son, Saturday morning.

Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Agam Abdul Ghafur in Lubuk Basung, Saturday, said the victim was found by a joint team from BPBD Agam, Satpol PP Damkar Agam, Basarnas Pos Lubuk Basung, Police, TNI and others, Saturday (8/8/2026) afternoon.

"This 100-year-old grandmother has been handed over to the family after being found," he said.

He said the victim was reported missing by his son on Saturday (8/8/2026) at around 07.00 WIB.

At that time, the victim's child delivered breakfast for his parents and the victim was not at home.

Previously, his son had delivered dinner to the victim on Friday (7/8/2026) evening and his parents were still there.

"His son's house is about 500 meters from his parents' house," he said.

With the condition of his parents missing, the victim's child tried to find the whereabouts of his parents with the surrounding residents and was not found.

After that, the nagari device reported the incident to the Agam BPBD at 14.10 WIB and the BPBD and other joint teams went down to search for the victim.

"The victim was found in a bush about 50 meters from his house in a tired state," he said.

Two days earlier, the search and rescue team on Thursday (6/8) found Syafrida (67), an elderly person who had been missing for more than 24 hours in the Jorong Salisiah forest, Canduang District, Agam Regency.

The middle-aged woman was known to have disappeared after entering the forest near her residence. The family and local residents had searched, but were unsuccessful, so they asked the Padang Basarnas team to search.
