Handling 22 Corruption Cases, South Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office Saves More Than IDR 2 Billion Of State Money

BANJARMASIN - The South Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office said that his party managed to save more than IDR 2 billion in state finances from the results of the disclosure of corruption cases from January to June 2022.

"Alhamdulillah, of the 22 corruption cases that have entered the prosecution stage, the rescue of state finances has reached IDR 2,135,967,497", said the Head of the South Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office, Dr. Mukri, in Banjarmasin, Friday, July 22.

As for the handling of cases of alleged corruption, there are currently 23 cases in the investigation stage and 16 cases in the investigation stage. The South Kalimantan Attorney General's Office has also executed 13 convicts this year.

"All parties should not play with state finances because everything must be accounted for, including avoiding gratification practices and the like", he said, quoted by Antara.

In addition to law enforcement by the Special Criminal Sector, the South Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office also prioritizes aspects of prevention so that corruption does not occur.

For example, said Mukri, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) of South Kalimantan Province asked the Attorney General's Office to oversee 40 strategic projects carried out by the agency this year.

Through the Intelligence Sector together with the Civil and State Administration Sector, the Attorney General's Office provides support for escorting the physical construction of the work so that it is timely, of quality, on target, and appropriate to minimize the potential for irregularities in the projects being undertaken.

South Kalimantan High Prosecutor's Office accompanied by Wakajati and the Assistants held a release of performance achievements in the context of the 62nd Anniversary of Bhakti Adhyaksa (HBA) in 2022 which is commemorated today. In addition to the Special Criminal Sector, the handling of cases in the General Criminal Sector, the Intelligence Sector, the Civil and State Administration Sector, the Guidance Sector, and the Supervision Sector were also presented.
