Conducting Investigations, National Human Rights Commission Asks For Information From Inspector General Sambo And The Family Of Brigadier J

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) immediately summoned and asked for information from all parties involved in the shootout incident at the official house of the Head of the Profession and Security Division of the National Police, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Komnas HAM member Beka Ulung Hapsara said his party would ask for information from anyone involved in the incident, as well as in the effort to reveal the case.

"In the future, we will ask for information from the family of Brigadier J, Ferdy Sambo, his wife, and anyone who is involved and is part of the special team", Beka said in Jakarta, Thursday, July 14.

In addition, Beka continued that his party will also ask for information from experts, including forensic experts, and conduct incident processing at the crime scene (TKP).

He said Komnas HAM was conducting a series of independent preliminary investigations related to the shooting incident between members of the police at Inspector General Sambo's house. His team has collected several materials and information from conventional media coverage and social media.

"The chronology of events, information from the media, information from many communicating parties, but all of that must be verified further", said Beka.

The agency will also continue to work closely with the National Police in overseeing the completion of cases to produce recommendations for the police.

The Coordinator of the Sub-Commission for the Advancement of Human Rights/Commissioner for Education and Counseling for 2020-2022 explained that the results of the Komnas HAM investigation will conclude whether or not there were human rights violations in the incident.

Previously there was a shootout between members of the National Police at the Head of the Profession and Security Division of the National Police Office, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo at the Duren Tiga Police Complex Number 46 Pancoran Area, South Jakarta, Friday, July 8, at 17.00 WIB.

The shooting occurred between Brigadier Pol. Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat (Brigadier J) Adjutant Drive Caraka (ADV) Wife of the Police Propam Division Head with Bharada E, ADV Head of the Profession and Security Division of the National Police. The incident resulted in Brigadier Pol. Nopryansah was shot and killed with seven bullet holes in her body.

It was stated that the incident was motivated by allegations of harassment and pointing a gun by the wife of the Head of the National Police Propam Division, Putri Ferdy Sambo.
