Investigating Misappropriation Of ACT Aid Funds, Bareskrim Checks PT Lion Mentari Manager, Ganjar Rahayu

JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is still investigating the insurance manager of PT Lion Mentari in their investigation of the alleged misappropriation of aid funds by the charity Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). This examination is to explore the flow of funds to the heirs of the victims of Lion Air JT-610.

"Today we are also investigating Ganjar Rahayu as the manager of PT Lion Mentari," said Head of Sub-Directorate 4 of the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Kombes Andri Sudarmaji, to VOI, Thursday, July 14.

According to him, the statement from the manager of PT Lion Mentari is considered important to investigate the alleged misappropriation of funds by ACT to the heirs of the victims of Lion Air JT-610.

This is because investigators will explore the flow of funds from PT Lion Mentari to ACT.

"Yes, the exam material is about the flow of funds," said Andri.

Then, continued Andri, investigators also examined Novariadi Imam Akbari. He is the secretary of ACT for the period 2009 to 2019 and currently serves as chairman of the ACT Board of Trustees.

With a series of examinations, in the investigation of this case, a total of dozens of witnesses were questioned. In fact, the number is likely to increase.

"To date, there have been 12 witnesses in total," said Andri.

For information, the alleged misappropriation of funds by ACT Foundation management occurred during the distribution of aid to the heirs of the victims of the Lion Air JT-610 plane crash that occurred in 2018.

The alleged deviation was said to have been made by former ACT President Ahyudin and ACT President Ibnu Khajar. They are suspected of using aid funds for personal gain.

The status of the handling of this case has been upgraded from investigation to investigation. That way, sooner or later a suspect will be identified.

The increase in the status of this case is based on the results of the case title. The police believe that a crime has been committed in this case.
