Kiai Jombang's Son, MSAT Alias Mas Bechi, Surrendered Last Midnight, Immediately Taken To The East Java Regional Police

JOMBANG - The police immediately took Moch Subchi Azal Tsani (MSAT) a suspect in the sexual abuse of female students at the Shiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Jombang, East Java, to the East Java Police. Mas Bechi, the suspect's nickname, was called by the police to surrender.

“MSA was brought to the East Java Police. Later, the team together with the person concerned will be on their way to the East Java Regional Police," East Java Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta in front of the Shiddiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Thursday, July 7 evening.

The East Java Regional Police Chief emphasized that the legal process will continue regarding the transfer of the MSAT suspect to the Prosecutor's Office. During the arrest, the police also arrested 320 sympathizers of this Jombang kiai's son.

MSAT was reported to the Jombang Police on suspicion of sexual abuse in October 2019. The complainant is a woman from Central Java. MSAT was later named a suspect in December 2019. However, the case that attracted public attention was not over.

The East Java Police finally took over the case and MSAT was named a suspect in 2020.

Disapproved, MSAT submitted a pretrial to the Surabaya District Court for the determination of the suspect, but the judge rejected it. The case continued and investigators submitted the first phase of the dossier to the East Java High Court and it was declared complete or P21.

In January 2022, MSAT was summoned by the East Java Police to undergo the process of handing over the second stage of the East Java Police investigators to the East Java District Attorney's Office. However, he was absent. The East Java Regional Police finally put himself on the wanted list (DPO) or fugitives.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, July 3, a team from the East Java Police and the Jombang Police tried to arrest MSA in Ploso District. However, the MSAT managed to escape. Only two people who were with him were arrested.

That night, the police negotiated with a kyai who was MSA's father, but the suspect failed to be picked up by force.
