Perpetrator Of Child Abuse Arrested After Lured Into Victim's House

PANDEGLANG - Pandeglang Police have arrested RM (24), a resident of Mandalawangi Village, Pandeglang on a complaint about the criminal case of raping a minor in Pandeglang Regency, Tuesday, June 14, at around 23.00 western Indonesia time.

Pandeglang Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Belny Warlansyah explained that the perpetrator RM was arrested while at the complainant's house (the victim's family). When arrested by officers, the perpetrator did not move and was immediately taken to the Pandeglang Police Station to carry out a further examination process.

Based on the chronology, initially, the victim was taken by the suspect using a motorbike. When passing a garden in Mandalawangi District, the suspect RM immediately grabbed the victim. There the perpetrator raped the victim.

Belny also explained that when carrying out the action the victim had time to fight back.

"When the victim was downstairs, she fought back. But RM's power is so strong that the victim is helpless. While carrying out the action, the perpetrator told the victim to be quiet. The victim could only cry, even though she had screamed and called the name of her dead mother," explained Belny.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with the alleged crime of sexual intercourse and/or obscene acts against minors, as referred to in Article 81 in conjunction with Article 76D and Article 82 in conjunction with Article 76E of Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 23 of 2002 on the Protection of Children with a penalty of 15 years in prison.
