KALSEL - All regencies or cities in South Kalimantan Province (Kalsel) have the status of implementing level 1 of community activity restrictions (PPKM).

"Including the City of Banjarmasin, which previously had PPKM level 3 status, it dropped to level 1," said the Head of the South Kalimantan Health Service, Dr Diauddin, in Banjarmasin, Tuesday, June 7.

Diauddin conveyed that the PPKM level had decreased in several districts or cities so that everything was the same, now it is level 1 according to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs number 30 of 2022.

According to him, the instructions on level 2 PPKM and level 1 as well as optimizing the COVID-19 handling posts outside Java Island were issued on June 7, 2022.

"This instruction is valid from June 7 to July 4, 2022, and can be changed at any time according to need," he said.

He is also grateful that the handling of COVID-19 in his province with 13 regencies or cities is considered to have improved so that all regions are now on level 1 PPKM.

Because previously, one area, namely, the City of Banjarmasin had level 3 PPKM status and nine regions had level 2 PPKM status.

The nine regions that previously had PPKM level 2 status were Barito Kuala Regency, Banjar Regency, Tanah Laut Regency, Kotabaru Regency.

Then, Banjarbaru City, Tapin Regency, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency and Balangan Regency.

"Only three areas have level 1 status, namely, South Hulu Sungai, Tabalong and Tanah Bumbu Regencies," he said.

Even though all regions have level 1 PPKM status, it does not mean that the implementation of health protocols is loose, everyone must remain vigilant.

Diauddin asked people who have not participated in the COVID-19 vaccination to be vaccinated immediately to further expand group immunity.

Because, he said, the addition of new cases of COVID-19 again occurred in the City of Banjarmasin as many as one person. Thus, the total cases during the pandemic in South Kalimantan were 84.320 cases.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 patients in South Kalimantan today is 15 people. That figure after the recovered cases increased by two people today from Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) and Balangan.

This brings the total recovered since the pandemic two years ago to 81.769 people. Meanwhile, 2.536 people died.
